| Features:
| • | To use DDR3 memory, your system motherboard must have 240-pin DIMM slots and a DDR3-enabled chipset. | | • | This is because a DDR3 SDRAM DIMM will not fit into a standard DDR2 DIMM socket or a DDR DIMM socket. |

Product Description Crucial 4GB PC10600 DDR3 1333MHz Desktop Memory Upgrade Crucial's 4GB PC10600 DDR3 1333MHz Desktop Memory Upgrade with 240-pins are optimal for desktop computers. DDR3 is the latest generation of memory with an improved architecture that allows it to transmit data more quickly. A dual inline memory module (DIMM) consists of a number of memory components (usually black) that are attached to a printed circuit board (usually green). The gold pins on the bottom of the DIMM provide a connection between the module and a socket on a larger printed circuit board. The pins on the front and back of a DIMM are not connected to each other. Each 240-pin DIMM provides a 64-bit data path. Standard DDR3 240-pin DIMMs are currently available in DDR3 PC3-10600 SDRAM. Additional speeds will be added as the technology becomes available.

RAM works great with P7P55D! July 12, 2010 Roger L. Farson (La Quinta, CA USA) The RAM QVL for the Asus MB P7P55D has been scrutinized because you have to look at the suffix on end of the part number to find the .16FF version or you will see many blue screens. However, the RAM I received is not the .16FF version, but still seems to perform flawlessly. I had a spell of BSOD but I'm fairly positive that it was related to Win 7 64 bit and not the RAm compatibility. All in all, the RAM isn't pretty, but it sure is a thig of beauty how fast my PC is.
No bells. No whistles. June 4, 2010 Chas Law (Lebanon, TN, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This pair of mem sticks looks like mem sticks should. If your computer is suitably ventilated and you are not an overclocking, gaming fanatic then these work just fine without flashy heat sinks. Of course, different memory sticks work differently with different motherboard/processor combinations so I can only say that they plugged in and were detected correctly on my particular set up. At the end of the day, if you are considering buying any memory, get your shortlist of the ones you are considering then go to the memory manufacturer's web site and check that they are recommended for your motherboard. DO NOT go off the motherboard manufacturer's QVL, (Quality Vendor's List). The memory manufacturer's do more thorough testing so results are more telling. In my case, Asus showed some other memory on their QVL and I bought it. When I eventually checked with the memory manufacturer it was not compatible with the motherboard. So 2 RMAs later I bought this pair and, voila, my problem was solved. Still running, still keeping cool and no frills. I don't need my memory to look like an X-Wing fighter. I need it to work, silently and efficiently when I turn my computer on. These do that.
Very good RAM for the price. June 3, 2010 Han (New York) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought these to upgrade my Windows 7 Core 2 Duo system.
I was previously running 2 GB RAM on Windows 7 32 bit.
My system is relatively fast, but definitely felt that it need a RAM upgrade. I was using the processor/RAM widget on the Windows, and it was always using about 40-50% of my RAM on IDLE!
Now after upgrading RAM usage on idle is about 20%. Makes sense.
I looked for some more technical online reviews for this RAM and yes it did receive Best of Tom's Hardware award. For best bang for buck.
I haven't run a full RAM test (which everyone can by downloading Ubuntu's ISO Installer online... it's a boot CD with memtest!... for free!), but will later and post results.
Additionally, I had to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit to take full advantage of the 4 GB of RAM. If you still run 32 bit Windows 7 after install the new RAM it will only use up about 3.25 GB of RAM and not the full 4. Something to do with allocating memory for the NIC or something.
Overall, this was a good purchase. Good RAM for the money.
P.S. It works very nicely with my ASUS P5QC mobo. I have not yet tried overclocking the RAM.
edit:
Ran ramtest... perfect! no errors. :)
low 1.5V even when overclocked. Great for quiet HTPC May 21, 2010 W.H. (Los Angeles, CA USA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased 4 sets of this memory to go with Intel Core i3-530 and Gigabyte H55M-USB3. These Crucial sticks to the standard 1.5V even if I push it all the way up to 1666. Lower voltage means lower temperature and longer lifespan.
My previous sticks of OCZ DDR3 had heat spreader attached to them, but required 1.65V to run stably at 1666. They died after 6 months of usage. I am guessing OCZ's higher voltage and higher temperature broght them down.
Highly recommended for people assembling quiet office PC or HTPC, and looking for stable cool running memories.
