Product Description In short, 204-pin small outline dual inline memory modules (SODIMMs) are the form factor used to provide DDR3 memory modules for notebook computers and other small form factor computing platforms. 204-pin SODIMMs are currently available in PC3-8500 (DDR3 1066MHz) speeds. To use DDR3 memory, your system must have both a 204-pin SODIMM slot and a chipset that supports DDR3 memory. A DDR3 SODIMM will not fit into DDR2 or DDR memory sockets. (Information about which memory technology your system uses is included in the Crucial Memory Advisor tool.) SODIMMs are smaller and thinner than regular DIMMs, and the 204-pin SODIMM PCBs are always ~2.6 inches long and are usually around 1.75 inches high (though the heights can vary slightly). They consist of a number of memory components (usually black) that are attached to a printed circuit board (usually green). The number of memory components on a 204-pin SODIMM's printed circuit board (PCB) can vary, but the PCB will always have 102 pins on the front and the back both, for a total of 204 pins. The gold pins on the bottom of the SODIMM provide the connection between the memory module and the memory socket.

Great affordable RAM for a Macbook! July 24, 2010 Jason Keller (Eugene, OR United States) What can you say? It's RAM. You pop it in and it does what is says. Crucial is always a quality brand and this is a solid deal.
4 GB Ram July 21, 2010 MisterBear Install was easy except I could not get 2 of the screws (on Macbook Pro) back in as new. The Ram works great.
works great in my early-2009 macbook July 6, 2010 Tu Nguyen I use this in a 2.26ghz white macbook (nvidia 9400 graphics, intel core 2 duo model), and it's made multitasking a breeze in OS X. I frequently use virtualization software and like to leave iphoto and itunes running, so I was quickly running out of memory with the default 2gb the laptop ships with. It's easy to swap out the memory in this model (pop out a few screws on the bottom and voila). It might not be significantly cheaper than just ordering 4gb in the first place from Apple, but this way I have a spare 2gb set in case of computer troubleshooting emergencies.
Perfect for my new MacBook July 2, 2010 Kristi in Rochester Perfect for my new MacBook. I always double the memory in my Apple MacBooks for speed and multiple apps, as well as enjoyment of DVDs, so there was no question I'd install 4MB SO-DIMMs. These Crucial memory sticks popped right in, were read on first power up, and have worked flawlessly.
Great Value June 27, 2010 SDS I had a Macbook Pro 13.3' released in June 2009 and it worked great on my laptop! it feels so good to have a 4GB ram especially when doing multi-task.
