5 out of 5 stars RAM improves speed   October 12, 2008
J. Shofstall (Indiana USA)
Slow response was improved after I doubled my memory. Thanks to Crucial's capability to analyze my current memory configuration, I knew I only had to order 1 chip of 512mb. Fortunately, Toshiba was considerate enough to pre-install memory as 1 chip of 512 instead of 2 chips of 256. Thanks Crucial and Toshiba!!

3 out of 5 stars Didn't speed up computer   September 6, 2008
Richard Closser
According to the [...] website, this device was compatible and recommended for my sony vaio laptop. Having only 2*256Mb ram chips I figured it was time for an upgrade and bought two of these. Well they are compatible with my laptop but my ram is still the same. It will not use the total 1Gb of ram. I've tried everything and feel that I've wasted the money. On the good side, the chips do 'work' and delivery was good, although it took 5 days to ship the package because I had it shipped free.

5 out of 5 stars Good in HP Pavilion Laptop   August 28, 2008
Michael J. Bahr
I went from 512MB to 1GB with this upgrade. The installation was easy. The computer recognized the memory when I first booted up. No problems so far. This was a very cheap upgrade for my laptop and the performance improvement is significant.

5 out of 5 stars Works: simple and easy!   August 16, 2008
Maverick (Connecticut, USA)
After checking with Crucial's system scanner (crucial.com), I found out this was the right memory for my HP Pavilion zv6000 laptop. So, I installed it, turned on the computer, and it was recognized and usable right away! Simple and easy!

1 out of 5 stars Check with your manufacturer!   July 8, 2008
Stuart A. Sass (Omaha, NE)
I was unable to get these memory modules to work in my computer. Crucial's system scan told me the memory was compatible, but installing them corrupted my system and forced me to re-install my OS (using my old memory modules). I called Crucial and they sent me a different version of the modules, claiming that the slightly different modules would work. They did not. I then contacted my manufacturer who indicated emphatically that the memory is not compatible, and is the cause of my system problems. Crucial then allowed me to return the modules, but made me pay postage to send them back. All this hassle for a product that they guaranteed would work but instead it forced me to reinstall my OS - three times, in the end! I depended on Crucial's reputation and it was a mistake. Before you order this product, check with your manufacturer to make sure they are compatible.
