I bought the NEC based on prior experience with the brand and I am glad I did. This monitor gets used primarily for Photoshop editing. (Tip: change the color temp to sRGB with the OSD as soon as you turn it on - the color needs to be warmed up). You have to do this with the laughable OSD (on screen display). This rudimentary OSD almost cost this display one star. But I am so pleased with it other than that I just couldn't do it. Besides I have brought up the OSD a total of twice in the six months I have had it and may not need it again, ever.
Due to still having an older graphic card I am running the NEC analog and still am satisfied with the results. Would expect digital to be even sharper but that remains untested.
While 25% more than I wanted to spend, I would spend it again. The adage holds true: I rarely regret buying quality. You won't either.

true colors right out of the box. a little more pricey than other 20" monitors but you get what you pay for. great for digital photography. booted up and experienced no trouble with fitting wide screen using windows xp. it's a keeper!
