1 out of 5 stars Horrible Company   September 4, 2010

One star is too good for them. The only thing Customer Service gives is the run around -- that is, if you can get them to respond. They admit the product doesn't work and say I can return it, but after two months I still have a useless monitor and they still have my money. Like someone already said, "You've been warned".

I'm going to add to the dissatisfied list here. We have a Hanns-G HG281D monitor, which had a problem a year ago. The company was good then, as they were very helpful with getting arrangements made for repair, which they did at no cost to us.

However, a year later, the monitor is having problems again, at which we called Hanns-G customer service about getting it repaired again, and the guy I spoke with (Brian) was difficult to talk to. It was explained to us that the problem was with our video source, NOT the monitor, even though we had already determined that it was the monitor, since we replaced it with a working one.

From this recient experience, it appears that Hanns-G is no longer a reputable company. I would have to conclude that Hanns-G no longer stands behind their products. If this is how they do customer support, I definitely want NOTHING to do with them, and I highly DO NOT recommend them to anybody!

Seven months of usage on here and have 4 yr replacement warranty from Best Buy. Screen is very bright, contrast is remarkable, no latency visually on gaming. This is a remarkable monitor, I'm not sure how there are any negative reviews on it, all pixels are fine here. I would imagine industry wide quality is degrading as we use more imported nonsense, so defects mentioned below seem to apply to all screen. If you get a bad one, send it back, that should be standard consumer ideology. That said, mine is still going strong and I love this screen.

4 out of 5 stars Decent monitor   April 16, 2010

I own two of these monitors. Between the two, there is a single stuck pixel, but it's red and near one of the corners, so it's not a huge problem for me.

When you have a monitor with a TN panel this huge, it's expected to have a stuck or dead pixel or two, and only one of mine has that. If it were an IPS panel or something fancy that I paid a lot of money for, I'd be upset, but this is a cheap TN panel. No problem.

I haven't had any issues with tearing or jitter. As for color reproduction, this is definitely not an artist's monitor. Get an IPS panel for that. But for my gaming and productivity, it does just fine.

1 out of 5 stars Don't Say You Weren't Warned!   March 29, 2010

At this point I'm so sick of trying to deal with this company. It is obvious to me the company does not truly stand behind its products and that the gimmick of the corporation is that seemingly fantastic "3 year" warranty Hanns-G loves to tout on every website it pedals its goods upon.

In my experience, this supposed 3 year warranty (1 year LCD panel aside) does not really exist. When I hear from a Hanns-G manager that the particular issue I am having with my 19" monitor has "never been heard of or seen before " and their subsequent customer service follow up is with something about their technician--who has not even seen the video I took the time to make (per Hanns-G's request)--indicating "it must be the LCD panel," it is glaringly apparent that selling duped customers $70 replacement LCD panels is the real Hannspree business model here in the US.

No need to sugar coat anything at this point. It's been over 3 months of delays, unacknowledged emails, poor service, apathetic responses, and eventually--dismal results. I guess there's a reason why Hanns G and Hannspree are far from being world-renowned leaders and tend to flood the market by severely undercutting their competition in pricing.

Bottom Line: Save a few bucks, cross your fingers, and then hope you don't need go through customer service!
