3 out of 5 stars Apple keyboard with Numeric keypad   August 26, 2010
Just Me (Ellensburg, WA)
Nearly three years ago, I purchased an iMac which came with one of these keyboards. I really like the low profile and the light color of the keys. My old Mac keyboard which I used with my G3 has black keys. The keyboard was replaced under warranty once already. Now, my iMac's replacement keyboard has given up the "a" key. The "a" key will not work with the shift key or the caps lock key. Lucky for me, my old G3's keyboard still works. If I am able to get my iMac's keyboard replaced under the extended warranty, it will be the 2nd replacement, the third keyboard. As much as I like the keyboard, there seems to be room for improvement.

5 out of 5 stars Great Keyboard   August 26, 2010

Apple products have yet to fail me. This is another absolutely fine product. Packaging is tight, and ergonomic. Keyboard is quiet, compact, thin, and yet very responsive. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a basic extended keyboard for use with their Macintosh system.

5 out of 5 stars Types like a dream   August 25, 2010

I never thought I'd review a keyboard, but here I am. I am a writer, and our old keyboard buttons would stick, not press down properly, and just generally bit. I decided to order a nice keyboard now that I have a huge writing project in front of me, and I am really glad I did. I have not had any issues at all with keys not working, as another reviewer claimed. I was concerned that not having the concave "feel" for typing without looking would throw me off, but that's not at all the case. The keys are well-spaced, and there are the usual small ridges on the "f" and "j" keys for index fingers to help you stay lined up correctly. This keyboard is fast, easy, and types very smoothly. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Typical outstanding apple engineering   August 11, 2010
John S. Dean (Sturtevant, WI United States)
I'm not a fan of apple's OS (I run windows on my macbook pro as well as OS X) but their hardware is generally second to none.
I wasn't a fan of the chicklet style keyboard when I first got my MBP, but I got used to it. And when I wanted to change from my clunky "multimedia" keyboard on my dell hybrid I got for my office, I wanted something slim that doesn't waste space. This fits perfectly. Thin, but still with all the buttons I need. Response time on the buttons is quick, there are convenient usb ports underneath on each end, and it comes with a USB extension cable as well.

Works well on mac or PC.

5 out of 5 stars Love my wired keyboard   August 8, 2010

When I recently bought my new iMac, it came with a wireless keyboard and mouse. Initially I liked the idea, but in use I found that even lithium batteries wear out pretty quickly unless you turn the mouse and keyboard on and off every time you shut off the computer. Not gonna happen.

So when I spilled a glass of wine (a lovely Malbec) into my keyboard on my 5YO iMac, I purchased this new wired version to replace it. So much better than the clear plastic one I ruined, because it doesn't collect as much dust and cat hair as the clear one. It is a real pleasure to use compared to the new wireless version because there are no batteries to replace. This also has the numbered keypad on the right that I use all the time for style sheet shortcuts in Quark, and it has 2 USB connections that the wireless one doesn't have.

All around, a winner as far as I am concerned.
