Excellent wireless router July 20, 2008

It took me 2 minutes to set it up at home. I put the ISP IP addresses, named my network, set up WEP security and it was working. The range covers my house 600 m2 terrain. Speed is excellent, and wired 1Gbps Ethenet speeds up copying my Aperture Library (50GB) from my MacBook Pro to my iMac. Autovolt power supply is usefull allows it to be used in any country.

Great Router. I have a PC with gigabit ethernet. A MacBook Pro with wireless n. A FreeNAS server with gigabit. An 100mb switch, and behind it i have an xbox 360 wired (with open nat), and a windows xp pro laptop.
Connection is great. I get about 400mbps on gigabit over smb. I get anywhere from 128-216 mbps on wireless. That was measured with iStat Pro, and a 1GB .mp4 file over afp.
Setup is easy as pie. Took about 10 mins to setup. The installer (Airport Utility) walks you through it step by step.
Definitely better than my old linksys 802.11b router. Also well worth $179
Fast and easy set up July 15, 2008

Got this about 2 months ago. Boy is it fast! It's as fast as if I were hooked up with the ethernet cable. I have both a MacBook and Dell laptop. It hooked up more quickly with the PC than the Macbook. MY Dell laptop took a dump and I got a new one, turned it on and it found the network with no problem at all. I'm running XP SP2 on both Dells and not a single glitch. This is leaps and bounds better than the linksys router I had to set up for the Dell. Don't hesitate to get this. You won't be sorry.

This thing has excellent range, I was getting good reception 200ft away through a foot thick concrete wall. (On my iPod!) Setup was easy with no hitches, wireless printing was equally simple. My only irritation is that you have to have the management utility installed on the computer you want to administer from. The unit was surprisingly heavy and feels very sturdy. Overall I am very pleased with it.
