Only after receiving this product did I realize it was not a trueApple product. The picture on the item shows an adaptor with an apple logo - this is misleading at best. Also, after powering my macbook with this adaptor I started to notice static coming from my speakers or headphones. I thought the output jack on the macbook had gone bad but while listening I unplugged the magsafe cord from the computer and the static stopped. This tells me this adaptor comes no where near the quality of a real apple adaptor, nor is it reflected in the price.
I'm in contact with the vender now to see if they are willing to refund this item.

Not thrilled with this product. At around the two-year mark, my macbook pro power cord started showing the oft-reported signs of wearing away at the wire; the battery had also died at this point. Since I carry my laptop quite a bit, I figured that a new power cord (and a new battery) was a worthy investment. I ordered the Apple 85W Magsafe Power Adapter from Amazon, and it stopped working in six months! Not a wiring issue, but something else...not sure what, but inoperative nonetheless.
Now I've just re-ordered the same product because I can't think of a better option -- after scouring the internet, this still seems like the most reliable and cost-effective option. I take good care of my stuff -- is crossing my fingers and hoping for the best the only way to prevent future mishaps??
Amazon and/or amazon sellers should consider implementing one-year warranties for products such as electronics (as some other suppliers do).

I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the adapter arrived. Upon ordering the product, I was a little worried about what state the adapter would arrive in (my thought was, if these are used adapters, what condition do they need to be in that they would end up with this company?), but my worries were unfounded and the product was exactly what I needed.
